About the Role
Are you an organized, detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our accounting team, supporting full-cycle AP processes across multiple entities. This role is remote with occasional on-site requirements (Hamilton, Ontario) and reports to the Controller.
As a key member of our finance department, you’ll ensure timely and accurate invoice and payment processing, maintain strong vendor relationships, and support our month-end reporting and reconciliation activities.
What You’ll Do
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities
- Code, cost, and enter invoices accurately into accounting systems
- Prepare EFTs, cheque runs, and payment packages for approval
- Process employee expenses and credit card reconciliations
- Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile statements
- Maintain vendor records and compliant documentation for audits
- Generate AP and reconciliation reports to support month-end close
- Collaborate with project managers and finance leaders to ensure payment accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AP efficiency
What You Bring
- Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: 1–3+ years of full-cycle AP experience; construction industry background is a strong asset
- Systems: Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems; CMiC or Jonas Premier experience is an advantage
- Technical: Strong Excel skills and solid understanding of GST/HST/QST tax codes
- Attention to detail: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume transactions
- Communication: Clear, professional communication skills and a customer service mindset
- Mindset: Proactive, problem-solving approach; comfortable working independently or as part of a team
