This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Who we are

The Project Management Services unit offers a comprehensive range of services designed to assist Health and Social Services in identifying, planning, and implementing IT-related projects and initiatives. Among its many responsibilities, the unit also houses the Home Health Monitoring (HHM) program, delivering remote patient monitoring support to Yukoners.

Your role

As a part of the Project Management Services team, the Project Manager assumes leadership, responsibility, control and influence over the project team, ensuring that the product of the project team's work meets the specification of the business requirements, technical performance, the cost, and the schedule, as outlined in the project definition, and is consistent with the department's goals and objectives.

The Project Manager manages medium to large-scale acute-care, long-term care and community health projects and major corporate projects, which support program needs and improve service delivery. This position is responsible for overall direction, co-ordination and management of departmental information technology and business improvement initiatives through project feasibility, approval, design, development, testing, implementation and post-implementation review phases.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, project management, computer science or related field
  • Considerable experience supporting the delivery and implementation of complex healthcare projects
  • Experience using electronic systems that support project management such as Asana, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Practitioner)

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans where appropriate.
  • Strong change management, facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to foster collaborative and effective working relationships.
