Branch Information:
The Communications branch provides a range of services to the department that supports legislation and ongoing programs. In partnership with other branches, Communications develops communication strategies, and designs communications plans and materials for public engagements. Across the organization the branch interacts with the wider communications community on government shared projects. The branch is responsible for writing for the Yukon.ca website, news releases, newspaper, and radio ads; speech writing for elected officials; social media; and production of graphic materials for new and existing programs. They also handle media relations and organize events.
About the Position:
This position is focused on ensuring that the departments online presence and print materials meet the corporate standards, are tailored to the needs of the general pubic or client group and are effective in promoting department programs and services. It leads the governance and maintenance of the department's websites and social media, provides advice and guidance to staff on the development of online content and other communication products and coordinates the distribution of publications and products.
