Job Summary and Requirements

This opportunity is for a 14-month term position, temporary assignments may be considered.

The position requires working 75 hours biweekly.

The Workers' Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) administers workplace health and safety and workers' compensation in the territory. WSCB's mission is to assist workers and employers in preventing work-related physical and psychological injuries, illnesses and disabilities. We foster a culture of safety and facilitate staying at work, recovery and return to work.

The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Information Management and Technology, the Business Technology Manager is responsible for managing the research, development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and technical support of the Workers' Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB's) mission critical data network and technology infrastructure.

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, information management, cybersecurity, or a related field;
  • Experience leading a team and supporting staff development and growth through mentoring and collaboration;
  • Significant experience with virtualization technologies, network security architecture, and server infrastructures;
  • Experience planning, organizing and managing financial and technical resources;
  • Experience managing the development of technology strategies and plans including translating them into action;
  • Experience with contract evaluation, procurement, and supervising contractors would be an asset.
  • Cybersecurity certifications, such as a CEH or CISSP, would be an asset.

Candidates who have significant experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
