THE ROLE:

AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead a team of performance and application engineers. This role requires deep expertise in x86 architecture, server and storage technologies, performance optimization, and competitive analysis. Strong leadership skills and experience in managing engineering teams, cross-functional collaboration, and partner engineering are essential. The role involves shaping strategies for performance optimization and competitive analysis while working closely with product, marketing, and silicon development teams. This position is based in Santa Clara or Austin.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive knowledge of x86 computing architecture
  • Proven experience in software development and performance optimization
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing engineering teams
  • In-depth expertise in VMware, Nutanix, Linux operating systems, and hypervisors as well as industry-standard benchmarks.
  • Strong experience managing teams for performance analysis, tuning and optimization for enterprise software applications.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent
  • 10+ years experience
