THE ROLE:
We are recruiting outstanding engineers with a passion for Machine Learning & AI to improve existing software solutions and lead the definition and specification of AMD next-generation architectures. PhD/MSc-qualified engineers, with a strong background in architectures for AI/ML and mathematical modeling will be at the forefront of providing guidance to current generation software solutions and impact AMD next-generation products.
THE PERSON:
You will join a team whose architecture and systems activities cover a wide range of disciplines which includes optimizing the deployment of deep neural networks, numerical modeling, and performance modeling on heterogeneous multicore AI accelerators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Numerical modeling of algorithms that are deployed on AI accelerators
- Provide results/reports that improve existing software solutions and drive the definition and specification of the next-generation architectures
- Technical interaction with internal engineering teams and AMD customers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- PhD/MS/BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong understanding of the state of the art/emerging ML algorithms and their mapping onto modern heterogeneous multicore architectures
- Experienced in using popular ML frameworks, such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, ONNX
- Experience in creating custom operators in ML frameworks for numerical modeling
- Experience in AI inference data types
- Strong understanding of the quantization techniques, such as post training quantization and quantization aware training
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience in using GPUs to accelerate algorithms
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
