Job Description: The Nurse Clinician is part of a multidisciplinary team. Primary contacts are Public Health Nurses, Nurse Clinicians, support staff, and Medical Health Officers. This position reports to the Manager of Specialized Immunizations and Travel Health (SITH). The Nurse Clinician is an expert clinical nurse in the field of immunization with a focus on international travel and specialized immunization populations. The Nurse Clinician integrates experience, advanced level skills and knowledge in immunization and international travel using nursing theory, population health promotion strategies, and adult learning principles. The Nurse Clinician is responsible for staff orientation, certification, continuing education, and resource development. They work in partnership with the Medical Health Officer to lead clinical practice in both travel health and specialized immunization practices. The Nurse Clinician develops clinical policies and resources and leads quality improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor Certificate (CPR)

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
