Job Description: The Public Health Nurse (PHN) Clinical Supervisor is accountable to work within the guidelines established by Saskatchewan Health Authority to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate Public Health Nursing programs for the region. The Clinical Supervisor's knowledge of health and social sciences support PHN's in promoting health behaviors of individuals, families, and communities through targeted interventions, programs, and advocacy. Inherent in this role are knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, prevention, leadership, and intersectoral collaboration. Using the community development model, this individual works collaboratively with other programs, sectors, and agencies. This individual provides clinical support to PHN's by providing clinical expertise, orientation, training, staff development, and clinical performance appraisals.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years recent experience as a Public Health Nurse

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Course credits in community health and public health nursing are required

Other Education and Training

  • Current CPR Level C

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
