Job Description: Accountable for total patient care during inter and intra-hospital transport including complete physical assessment and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary; attending caesarian sections and high risk deliveries, as backup for pediatric residents or as primary resuscitators as per NRP guidelines; develops and maintains a quality improvement program for neonatal transport and transport advance practice nursing; provides support and guidance to nurses and pediatric residents in the designated practice environment; responsible for the assessing, establishing, maintaining, evaluating and updating the clinical standards of care for the neonatal transport program; assist staff in delivery of nursing care when not involved in transport.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification acceptable
  • Trained in Transfer of Function
