Job Description: REPORTS TO THE NURSING MANAGER IN THE AMBULATORY CARE DEPT. THE EDUCATOR IS SELF-DIRECTED AND REQUIRES MINIMUM SUPERVISION. CONTACTS WITH STAFF, CLIENTS/FAMILIES, OTHER HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENTS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE POSITION. OFTEN ACTS AS A RESOURCE TO OUTSIDE AGENCIES, NURSING HOMES, CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION, FOR INSERVICES/WORKSHOPS ON AREA SPECIFIC AND GENERAL PATIENT EDUCATION, AS WELL AS TEACHING/COMMUNICATION SKILLS.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Enterostomal Therapy certificate

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications

Other Information

  • No guaranteed hours of work
  • Must be available for a minimum of 1 to 4 days per week. Must be available all shifts which include, short shifts, short notice calls, statutory or designated holidays
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
