As Vice-president of CNP, you will report to the Chief Technology Office) and lead a multi-functional team including leading five direct reports and more than 200 team members nationally. In addition to your experience motivating a large team and managing large network build programmes, you are a strong communicator who can skillfully engage with and influence key partners across the business to collectively optimize investment strategies in service of our customers. Differentiated external and internal relationship building at all levels will be an important factor in your success.

What you'll do

  • Operations Capital Management: Optimizing investment strategies to maximize network efficiency and growth in support of our customers.
  • National Access and Energy Planning: Developing comprehensive strategies for sustainable and efficient network access across Canada.
  • Access and Core Planning: Leading the evolution of our wireline and wireless infrastructure, including 5G deployment and beyond.
  • Network evolution: Strategically managing the transition from legacy systems to cutting-edge fiber optics including Retirement and monetization of Copper Infrastructure.
  • Indigenous Reconciliation: Fostering meaningful partnerships and initiatives that support Indigenous communities across Canada.
  • Strategic vision and operational risk management - execute and maintain a consistent and effective customer experience strategy that advances, elevates and differentiates our capabilities.
  • Culture - foster and model a coaching culture, cultivate strong team member engagement creating an extraordinary place to work, grow and develop. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence and drive a strong, end-to-end service delivery experience.

What you bring

  • Minimum seven years of experience leading large geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experienced Executive leading with a track record of advancing talent and growing leaders.
  • Demonstrated consistent history in successful execution of large capital investment programmes in telecommunications networks planning.
  • A progressive career leading, developing and implementing telecommunications grade network architectures, designs and detailed delivery plans.
  • Demonstrated history of successful execution on objectives while achieving desired time, quality, and cost standards.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or related industries.
  • A mindset of continuous improvement and innovation in support of TELUS' Customer First brand promise.
  • A track record of collaboration underpinned by compelling storytelling skills
  • Experience leading large transformational initiatives, budgets, and KPIs/metrics.
  • Leadership courage to try new ideas, make tough decisions balanced with an ability to sort through noise and determine the key opportunities.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing dynamics and thrive in ambiguity (e.g. changing forecasts, systems and technology changes, rapidly evolving tools and methods).
  • A passion for growth demonstrating the agility required to respond to market conditions with speed and enthusiasm.
  • Smart collaboration and spirited teamwork including the ability to listen to, empathize with, connect with and inspire everyone from frontline team members through to all levels of executive leadership.
  • University degree from a recognized educational institute, ideally in Engineering or Computer Science
  • MBA or Master's degree is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in English is required, French would be an asset.
