Home Health Monitoring (HHM) enables patients with severe chronic diseases or conditions to monitor health factors from the comfort of their homes and share this information electronically with health professionals. Tracking the patients' results regularly, the healthcare team can adjust treatments as required.

TELUS Health is seeking a DevOps Specialist to build solutions to enhance availability, performance, and stability of services as well as automating away repetitive work.

In this role, you will:

  • Leverage cutting edge technology for monitoring and maintaining the day to day operations of the entire production infrastructure on our AWS platform serving large number of patients.
  • Develop and implement solutions that operate at scale. Our teams are empowered and expected to improve our products to truly deliver a reliable experience to customers
  • Respond to pings and alerts to investigate issues in our products that you can really sink your teeth into
  • Be working on non-production and production environments handling monitoring, data collection and configuration management
  • Facilitate disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, reliability improvement initiatives and platform automation

Qualifications


What you bring:

  • Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related development field
  • Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure; AWS/GCP
  • Strong working knowledge of Cloud operational best practices.
  • Expertise in Monitoring distributed systems application architectures
  • Exposure to & maintenance of configuration management tools at scale
  • Diagnosing & troubleshooting user facing service incidents & outages
  • Exposure to system & application level telemetry for large distributed cloud architectures
  • Diagnosing, resolving problems in high-throughput web applications & network services
  • Expert level troubleshooting skills across different levels of the solution stack
  • Proven problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills.
  • Participation in training and information sharing activities.
  • Ability to implement highly scalable and complex solutions. Experience in scaling applications (Performance/database optimization, horizontal / vertical scaling)
  • Solid understanding of application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
  • Understanding of Security best practices.
  • Able to excel in a distributed team environment
  • Ability to work on-call as part of a team


Specific Technologies:

  • Experience in AWS or GCP (AWS Preferred)
  • Experience with container management and micro services architectures: Docker / Kubernetes /ECS/Fargate
