About the role
Your role:
With little to no guidance, proposing guidelines and carries out the different activities related to the execution of platform development activities by developing automation to enable software development and deployment by implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, etc.
Assists devops lead in developing POC's to validate ideas. May assist in leading implementation plans.
Assist devops team members by providing guidance and code reviews to support development of devops skills in the team. Will guide and support to a level 1 and 2 role.
What you will be doing:
Coding: Investigates and fixes complex defects (for multiple smaller functional applications); develops and designs technical solutions for existing products or for enhancements to new/future releases.
Debugging/Troubleshooting: Performs root cause analysis, interprets the results, and develops action plan and priorities for backlogs (identifying short- and long-term solutions); may lead implementation of plan.
Requirement Development: Leads development of requirements, understanding impact of architecture on overall solution.
Design: Leads proof-of-concept for medium to large initiatives; implements prototypes to validate ideas.
Designs for conformity between deployment environments, scalability, security and flexibility.
Monitoring/Support: Independently handles and provides additional support in solving software/system monitoring issues and escalations which require complex technical expertise to troubleshoot.
Provides input for configuration activities such as alerts, dashboards, etc.
Reviews critical tickets/incidents for lower levels to ensure accuracy; provides input into monitoring systems and leads resolution process for critical issues that impact multiple applications or groups.
Assist development teams by providing guidance of observability best practices and implementations.
Assist in tracking and reporting of costs.
Deployment: Researches and proposes solutions for automation of deployments.
Your Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
5 to 8 years of experience
Expertise in AWS and cloud technologies
Experience in CICD process and tools such as Git, GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins
Experience in Snowflake and Databricks in a great asset.
Certifications in AWS, Jenkins, Terraform
Knowledge of ITSM and SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, ITIL, SDLC, SCRUM, Kanban).
A self-starter, who can drive and follow through the initiatives from the beginning to the end.
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
