CDCC Business Acceptance & Delivery department is responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of business initiatives for the Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC). The objective is to prioritize value added initiatives to maximize investment value for the business and its partners while mitigating the associated implementation risks. The department participates in designing efficient and innovative business solutions, coordinating and performing user acceptance testing, industry testing and defining implementation strategies for business units and Industry participants.
CDCC Business Acceptance & Delivery is a team of experts in the clearing industry with strong skills in testing, acceptance and operationalization. Its success is measured by the delivery of solutions that meet the quality criteria of the clearinghouse's clients, their partners, CDCC's own teams as well as other parts of TMX, allowing them to achieve their strategic objectives.

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Business Acceptance, you will be responsible to write business requirements for selected initiatives. You will update rules, internal and industry procedures, industry business requirements and prepare the required presentation material for end user training. He will plan and conduct all activities required to perform end to end user and Industry acceptance testing to ensure implementation risks are mitigated. You will support Industry participants in building their test scripts and interpret test results. For the sake of synergy and collaboration, you will work closely with the CDCC operations team, CDCC Risk operations team and the cluster in order to increase the quality and the completeness of the deliveries.

Key Accountabilities

  • Gather and document business requirements for Information Technology and Industry participants for new processes or system enhancements in order to meet business objectives.

  • Coordinate activities relating to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for software upgrades, new processes and products.

  • Define test scenarios and scripts to test end to end processes for business units and Market participants (Banks, Dealers, Pension Funds, IDBs, Custodians etc...) to avoid unplanned impacts after implementing new software releases.

  • Determine the required system configuration to execute the planned tests in collaboration with the Quality assurance (QA) department

  • Support Industry participants in building their test scenarios, scripts and interpreting tests results.

  • Ensure that test results meet expectations and any gaps are described and documented in detail with the corresponding impacts to business units and participants.

  • Analyze identified defects and recommend corrective actions and alternate solutions.

  • Identify and propose rule changes required to implement new processes or systems enhancements.

  • Propose system improvements, tool automation or process changes to improve business unit efficiency and reduce operational risks.

  • Document system procedures, process flows and changes impacting business and market participants.

  • Prepare end user training materials and conduct training sessions.

  • Responsible for "ad-hoc" system configuration to validate new product behavior and identify any gaps to enable launching new products.

  • Maintain test system environments to allow Members to perform their internal tests by simulating the production environment.

  • Responsible for preparing the required simulation test for CDCC's CSAE 3416, 5025 to meet audit requirements.

  • Determine requirements to perform non-functional tests when necessary to avoid implementation issues

Must haves

  • University Degree, Business Administration or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of meaningful experience in the Securities Industry

  • Highly motivated self-starter who is flexible and goal oriented

  • Self-confident, positive attitude and pragmatic

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Technical skills: Jira, confluence, Google office applications and/or MS office suite of products

  • Must be reliable, results oriented, customer-focused and attentive to details

  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment

  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

  • Experience working in a team- oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure

  • Knowledge of BA best practices.

  • Extensive ability to articulate and document functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Familiar with IT business analysis practices and SDLC methodology.

Nice to haves

  • Canadian Securities Course

  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is ​preferred

  • Previous experience in capital markets industry or securities back office processing

  • Previous experience in computer sciences, quality assurance or Risk management

  • Previous experience in Financial Services and/or Capital Markets Industry

  • Experience with UNIX operating system

  • Programming knowledge in VBA or other languages

  • Experience using Testrail or similar tools an asset
