Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a part-time (20h/week) Intern, Multimedia Specialist position in Montreal, QC from Jan - Apr 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, Multimedia Specialist is responsible for working with Safety and Training group to apply technical and creative skills to create and edit safety training content. The role works with several media formats including videos, intra and internet web pages, 2D and 3D animations and graphics. During the internship, the candidate receives the Manager's guidance and content expertise to ensure the successful implementation for all projects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Storyboard, film and edit micro-video training content with support from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Train staff on video editing software and concepts
  • Create and edit intra and internet web pages
  • Create and modify graphics and photos
  • Prepare training material to support users on digitized forms
  • Complete stakeholder analysis to establish user needs
  • Create computer animations
  • Redesign Training and Development SharePoint Site
  • Apply adult learning concepts to ensure micro-video training engages its consumers

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Proficiency with video editing software (e.g. Premiere, Davinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Proficiency with graphics software such as Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Knowledge of web programming languages (HTML5)
  • Knowledge of web design and editing software (WordPress)
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D animation software such as Blender)
  • Knowledge of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) principles and delivery for multiple devices and platforms
  • Knowledge of social media content creation, such as YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram
  • Applies analytical thinking to projects and tasks
  • Communicates effectively
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of content
  • Takes initiative on projects and tasks
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)*
  • Knowledge of SharePoint*
  • Knowledge of Cornerstone or other Leaning Management Systems*
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety principles*

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia or similar

* Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
