About the role

What you'll do here:

  • Solves technical defects that have never been encountered previously in the organization

  • Conducts code reviews and designs and implements the most complex features across multiple devops platform ecosystems.

  • Guiding and influencing development teams on the devops solutions and practices.

  • Directs and performs root cause analysis of critical business and production platform issues

  • Providing expertise for software development teams, reviews and approves resulting action plans (e.g., directs development/ execution and prioritization of offensive and defensive backlogs) and leads implementation (collaborating with the software engineering teams to define priorities).

  • Leads development of requirements, evaluates risk (i.e. impact and likelihood) of architecture on overall solution and provides alternatives for other possible solutions.

  • Providing high level estimation for preliminary project planning.

  • Capacity and cost planning for hardware, software and storage.

  • Directs and reviews design artifacts and proof-of-concept around platforms for large, complex initiatives

  • Implements prototypes to validate ideas within a cost effective and secure manor.

  • Act as SME on platforms to provide guidance and recommendations to the software development teams.

  • Recommends technologies/tools to facilitate integrations between product stacks.

  • Interpreting security policies and ensuring platform designs conform with security guidelines.

  • Ensure observability, best practices and KPI's are implemented in the solutions, provide support to platforms to ensure success of the software development teams to deliver greater value to the business.

  • Implementing high availablity solutions with multi-tiered recoverability, i.e. disaster recovery, data recovery, data backups, etc.

  • Problem management to look at possibilities to iterate on the solution and minimize impacts.

  • Provides technical direction to software development teams to ensure seamless and more frequent deployments in the future.

What you bring to the table:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines

  • Technologies : K8S, ArgoCD, DataDog, Terraform, GitHub actions, HashiCorp Vault, Istio, AWS

  • Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of resources.

  • Bilingual (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required but must be eligible to work in Canada.
