As a key member of our Pharmacy Consulting team under the Payor & Provider Solutions team, you will support the advancement of the pharma engagement strategy.


We are seeking a highly skilled Health economist to join our team, who is a highly motivated self-starter with an engaging and driven personality. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the execution of health technology assessments of new drugs and indications from a private payor lens, the Product Listing Agreements (PLA) strategy execution, and support the market access consulting program. You will work closely with the Pharma engagement lead and the pharmacy consulting team to support program delivery for PLA, drug review and market access consulting programs. Responsibilities

  • Perform economic analysis for health technology assessments of new drugs and indications to support the enhanced drug review program
  • Provide subject matter expertise in health technology assessment from private payor lens for execution of market access consulting program
  • Support the negotiation of product list agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions, in collaboration with the Pharma engagement lead
  • Navigate complex negotiations for product list agreements to drive value for private payor clients, while understanding the private payer market and the Pharmacy benefit management and the TELUS Health ecosystem
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within pharmaceutical companies and carrier clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling value propositions and customized solutions for pharmaceutical partners
  • Work with the team to conduct market research and analysis to identify target areas for negotiations, market trends, competitor activities, and potential growth opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging pharmaceutical products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of partnership agreements
  • Consistently delivers high quality work, meeting internal quality expectation and receiving high satisfaction rates

  • Have solid understanding of pharmacy benefit and pharmaceutical landscapes and program offerings within the pharmacy benefit management industry and experience in Price List Agreements
  • Have experience performing health technology assessments from a private payor perspective
  • Have the ability to use your experience to take initiative in troubleshooting, allowing you to effectively and efficiently identify problems and apply appropriate solutions

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Health economics
  • Pharmacy degree, an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related Pharmaceutical, Pharmacy benefit management or insurer role
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including knowledge and experience with private payor health technology assessments, product list agreements, industry regulations, and pharmacy benefit management business.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve program targets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Google drive, Google sheets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will, most of the time, interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its national scope.
