What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets is a leading global investment banking company dedicated to providing services in banking, finance, and capital markets to corporations, institutional investors, asset managers, and governments globally. The Funding and Liquidity technology group within RBC Capital Markets' Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS) organization is responsible for supporting the business units that manage both secured and unsecured funding within Capital Markets. We are investing in new capabilities to ensure that RBC is as efficient as possible in funding the firm in line with our risk appetite. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Assurance specialist to lead all Quality Assurance efforts for CM Funding & Liquidity initiatives. This is a great time to join the team to execute on a vision for a very complex part of the Capital Markets' business.

What will you do?

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for FTP (Fund Transfer Pricing) and ALR (Asset Liability Reporting) software development

  • Act as an advisor to the technology team on the scope of user acceptance testing and acceptance criterions

  • Work with multiple technology and business stakeholders to coordinate testing efforts across multiple development teams and project streams

  • Oversee end to end UAT efforts, identify and highlight integration failure points in end to end business process and track bug fixes to resolution

  • Understand the key business user of the ALR and FTP and work with them to create user acceptance test cases and own the test plan

  • Collaborate with development team to ensure the test automation capabilities are complementary to the test strategies

  • In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer science or related field with 7+ years' experience in Quality Assurance with proficiency in QA processes, defining test strategies and test planning

  • Experience with driving Test Automation work with the development team

  • Experience working in technology team of an investment bank, financial institution or equivalent

  • Proficiency with JIRA and experience working in agile SDLC methodology

  • Hands-on experience in SQL/NoSQL Databases

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes

Nice-to-have

  • Capital Markets, Treasury or Liquidity experience.

  • Experience working in large scale data driven projects

  • Proficiency maintaining test automation frameworks and/ or experience with any other programming languages used in test automation e.g. python, java

  • Certification: ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus

  • Experience with capital market products and how the bank works
