Whether a project involves a small-scale renovation, retrofit of existing systems or buildings, the development of complex commercial, transit, or healthcare facilities, or matters involving compliance issues with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, our clients trust our expertise and professionalism.

We're looking for an Architect who can tackle projects and work with a team of associates. If you're someone who takes your job seriously but also has a great sense of humor, we want you on our awesome team in our Laval office.

The quest !

  • Visit sites and conduct safety and accessibility standard compliance analysis of buildings according to the Quebec Construction Code, Ontario Building Code, National Building & Fire Codes, and other applicable standards;
  • Develop an Alternative Solution to address various compliance issues, based on the Quebec Construction Code (QCC), including the associated Objectives and Functional Statements. Submitting the Alternative Solution proposed to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ);
  • Perform building assessment, property inspection, and thorough evaluation of a building's condition, performance, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards;
  • Perform studies for building code upgrades for renovations or after disasters;
  • Review drawings and provide alternative solutions;
  • Determine the origin and cause of damage to the building envelope (roofing, siding, curtain wall) of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings;
  • Conduct thermographic examinations and standardized water tests on buildings;
  • Write detailed project and technical reports outlining the design analysis, Building Code compliance, investigations conducted and their conclusions;
  • Interact with clients and other stakeholders for successful delivery of the projects.

What's in your bag ?

  • Relevant degree in engineering or architecture;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience including design, construction, and code compliance, building science, design, for working on medium to large size high-rise, residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects e.g. hospitals, universities, malls, airports, hotels, etc.;
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes, fire codes, local laws and regulations;
  • Expertise in building science, as well as extensive knowledge of the building envelope;
  • Excellent ability to synthesize and analyze information, solve problems, and write technical reports;
  • Attention to efficiency and detail, excellent practical sense, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize, curiosity, good judgment, and initiative;
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness;
  • Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities;
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and clients;
  • Able to obtain government security clearance;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
