Kontron Canada is looking for a passionate Software Development Manager with bold ideas **** and a pioneering spirit to take software engineering to the next level.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGES AHEAD:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Manage the design, development, integration and implementation of software solutions for cutting-edge products;
  • Implement Security norms like NIST or ISO 27001, 27002, etc;
  • Recruit and develop software engineers of all levels. Ensure good management and best practices for the software department;
  • Define, monitor and develop software department metrics;
  • Actively participate in the request for quotation process to plan required resources, schedules and costs associated with quotes;
  • Encourage a culture of innovation, continuous training and participation in external community projects;
  • In collaboration with project managers, plan and manage the use of local, remote and subcontractor resources to ensure the optimization of their use, to meet current and future project needs;
  • Provide software services to other Kontron entities;
  • Implement technologies and best practices related to quality and security in software development;
  • Participate in budget management and management of software service providers.

YOU WILL IMPRESS US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent;
  • Experience: Ideally more than 10 years of Software Team Management;
  • Knowledge: Management of software teams (Internal and Subcontractors), experience in an environment of development and integration of systems, electronic cards and software. Knowledge and experience in Security norms like NIST, ISO 27001, 27002, 27005, etc. Agile methodology (SCRUM and others), requirements management, KPIs, and more.
  • Assets: PMP, OIQ member;
  • Languages: French and English (written and spoken). Functional English is required due to various multidisciplinary tasks including communications with customers, the corporate and sister companies in the Kontron group.
