HOURS OF WORK:   

Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

HOURLY RATE OF PAY:

$57.50/hour

 PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

To contribute to the effectiveness of the academic units and administrative departments, by providing database maintenance, as well as other data analysis, interface and report writing support activities for assigned systems / applications.

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or other University degree in a related field as determined by the Department
  • Four (4) or more years demonstrated proficiency in:
    • Maintenance and administration of common databases (e.g. Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, etc.)
    • Relational database technologies / SQL, data models including analytics and query design utilizing, business modeling, systems documentation / versioning
    • Data Analysis and Report writing (e.g. Crystal, Business Objects, Power BI), using business intelligence / analytics tools and Office Productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint SharePoint, etc.)
    • Data integrations between applications, databases, systems using procedural SQL, Python, Powershell and other scripting languages/tools
    • Application development tools / environments, client-server technologies, object-oriented design, directory services, and systems administration / security
    • Database performance monitoring tools (e.g., DPA / Database Performance Analyzer, SolarWinds, SQL Server Profiler, Oracle proprietary tools, etc.)
  • Good teamwork, organization, multitasking, analytical, problem solving, customer service and written/oral communication skills (including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to stakeholders)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools and processes
  • General knowledge of:
    • Issue tracking and project management software
    • Applicable legislative, statutory and industry compliance requirements
    • Current IT best practices, technologies and standards
