The Common Engineering unit provides shared software engineering services to global Product Management and development teams in the OpenText™ Products group. This includes Product Information artifacts (product documentation and help), Localization support, Accessibility governance (VPAT, WCAG), Performance Engineering and Product Security, Build and release management tools and services.

Your Impact:

As a Lead Product Security Architect you will work as part of a small team of subject-matter experts, providing security expertise to software development teams producing world class enterprise information management applications. In a time of increasing interconnectivity and rising expectations of rapid content delivery, security is a paramount concern. The position will focus on continually improving the Secure Software Development Lifecycle and evangelizing the importance of security to more than 4000 software engineers globally. The position will also support a team responsible for locating security vulnerabilities and preventing them as early as possible in the development process. This individual will be expected to demonstrate their technical knowledge and help Open Text produce software that exceeds the security requirements of customers worldwide.

As a Lead Product Security Architect, you will:

  • Secure web and cloud-based applications, databases, with expertise in relevant technologies (JavaScript, Single Page Apps, OAuth, microservice architecture).
  • Identify application vulnerability types, exploit techniques, and apply mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize advanced software vulnerability scanning tools and detection techniques.
  • Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications.
  • Design and mentor teams on creating and applying threat models.
  • Apply hands-on experience with COTS and open-source security testing tools, and ensure secure, compliant virtualized and containerized environments.

What you need to succeed:

  • 8+ years in web application security and vulnerability analysis.
  • Skilled in cybersecurity research, staying informed on trends and emerging threats.
  • Persuasive, clear communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines independently.
  • Effective at networking with development teams, architects, and dev/ops to embed security in the development culture.
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or information security, with CISSP and/or CEH certification.
