Security Operations is the team that handles day to day protection of our environment and the tools that support them. This team takes care of identifying security weaknesses and facilitates remediation efforts. Additionally, this team monitors networks to assesses abnormal behaviors and manages security incidents to allow for execution of response processes.

Your Impact:

A Security Operations Management role at OpenText is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to impact lives. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Security Operations, you will lead OpenText's global SOC operations, overseeing the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous evolution of our security monitoring and response capabilities. You will be responsible for managing advanced security operations, threat detection, incident response, and cyber resilience programs.

This role demands strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and strategic vision to scale SOC capabilities, integrate emerging security technologies, and proactively defend OpenText against evolving cyber threats. Collaborate with cross-functional teams is integral, including IT, compliance, engineering, and executive leadership, to align security initiatives with business objectives.

What the role offers:

As a Director, Security Operations you will:

  • Define & Execute SOC Strategy: Drive AI-driven threat detection, automation, and cloud security integration.
  • Lead 24/7 Security Operations: Ensure rapid detection, containment, and resolution of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Enhance Threat Intelligence: Integrate global threat feeds, proactive threat hunting, and advanced detection techniques.
  • Optimize SOC Tooling: Manage SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and XDR, aligning with security engineering and DevSecOps workflows.
  • Ensure Compliance & Governance: Align with ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, SOX, HIPAA, NIST CSF, and support audits.
  • Build & Lead a Global Team: Develop a high-performing SOC team with continuous training and incident response drills.
  • Lead the integration of AI and machine learning technologies into security operations to enhance threat detection capabilities and automate routine security monitoring tasks.
  • Support strategic roadmaps for implementing AI-powered security solutions across the organization's threat hunting and incident response workflows.
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 5+ years leading SOC teams at a Director level or higher.

What you need to Succeed:

  • Extensive experience leading SOC operations, incident response, and cyber defense programs.
  • Deep expertise in AI-driven security automation, SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ability to influence cybersecurity strategy at the executive level and communicate effectively.
  • Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, Zero Trust, and threat intelligence.
  • Proven ability to lead under high-pressure situations with strong decision-making skills.
  • 7+ years of experience managing security operations with demonstrable success implementing AI/ML security tools for threat detection and response
  • Track record of directing cross-functional teams in security incident management enhanced by AI-based detection and analysis tools
  • Bachelor's/Master's in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GCIA, GCFA, GCIH) preferred.
