About the job

As a Telecommunications Analyst, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute in the delivery of the top digital government priorities that have a high impact on the delivery of public safety communications throughout the province.

As part of our team, you will:
• provide technical expertise and support for the Public Safety Broadband Network (PSBN) and Next Generation 9-1-1 services, including consultation, provisioning, and operational support.
• work with team members, mobile network carriers, and stakeholders to design and develop a Proof of Concept (POC) for the PSBN that meets enterprise requirements.
• plan and coordinate all aspects of the service, including hardware provisioning, vendor management, and network performance reporting.
• manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring all partners are engaged and updated on product plans, and support the implementation of strong service management processes.
• identify and analyze performance and service delivery trends, evaluate solutions, and report on operations.
• offer expertise on Next Generation 9-1-1 through research and market insights.

What you bring to the team

Technical knowledge

You are skilled in:
• Mobile broadband, telecommunications services (e.g., radio access network (RAN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), mobile radio), and legacy systems to support public safety projects.
• Network operations, including providing technical direction for designing and implementing network components.
• Staying up to date on telecommunications strategies, frameworks, and emerging technologies, including hardware, software, and infrastructure.

Research and analytical skills

You are a problem-solver who:
• Analyzes and evaluates clients' telecom needs to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Provides leadership and solutions for advanced technical and service issues.
• Coordinates and resolves system malfunctions, assessing the impact of changes.
• Adapts to changing priorities in a 24/7 environment to maintain and improve services.

Project management knowledge and skills

You are skilled in:
• Understanding telecom concepts and trends to plan and coordinate installations.
• Integrating telecom services with various operating environments.
• Providing technical advice to systems professionals and vendors.
• Planning, coordinating, and leading IT projects.
• Product development.

Communication skills

You are a clear communicator who:
• Works well in a team to understand business needs and develop telecom solutions.
• Prepares various documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Creates presentations and explains technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Uses persuasion and negotiation to resolve service problems with vendors and clients.
• Acts as a liaison and adviser to senior management and clients.
