What is the opportunity?

In the role of Technical Systems Analyst you will be responsible for development and support activities for RBC Caribbean Cards Issuing and ATM / POS Channels processing. You will partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues. You will recommend technology solutions that meet sponsor / stakeholder needs. You will also provide senior production support to the applications and their users and provide off hours production support.

What will you do?

  • Provide support on new initiatives and active directory deployment and integration opportunities for RBC enterprise.
  • Research and analyze business and system needs and explore alternative options and recommends technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs and project life cycle (PLC) deliverables
  • Coordinate activities related to the detailed design phases for small to large projects/programs, identifying, tracking, and resolving technical issues
  • Provide input into high level and detailed technical specifications for small to medium projects in accordance with PLC, security, and architecture documentation objectives
  • Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing and/or recommending mitigation strategies
  • Participate in the evaluation of third party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises
  • Participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related discipline or equivalent experience in programming discipline
  • Experience developing with .NET, C#
  • Knowledge of relational database systems including DB2/SQL
  • Working experience in Agile and Iterative waterfall methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with UNIX
  • Knowledge of payment (Visa, MasterCard) and financial systems
