Overview

The Team Lead has responsibility for the planning, design, implementation, and sustainment of the applications supporting the Investment Management and Portfolio Management Business Units.

The Team Lead proactively serves as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for business stakeholders related to the technology enablement and sustainment of QuadReal's operations. They represent IT to the business by promoting the IT vision, values, services, and capabilities.

The Team Lead is responsible for the stable operation of applications by proactively ensuring that appropriate end-to-end application lifecycle management, change control, production support, and quality assurance processes are in place. The Team Lead also manages day-to-day, key third-party software and support relationships while also supporting the sourcing and allocation of appropriately skilled resources for the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a mentor and coach to their team and guides the building of tailored development plans for all team members, focusing on both soft skills and technical skill development
  • Supports succession planning with team members and works with Mangers to develop a succession plan for self
  • Collaborates with decision makers, system owners, and end users from all corporate levels to gather requirements, perform feasibility studies and create business cases that contribute to the financial and operational goals.
  • Acts as a liaison between the IT teams, lines of business and other stakeholders to understand business imperatives and set IT strategies and priorities for all system enhancements and projects.
  • Drafts and maintains procedures and documentation for application support and ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures.
  • Leads proactive and collaborative relationships with suppliers to resolve incidents, problems, or unsatisfactory systems performance. Implements supplier management-related service improvement initiatives and programs.
  • Ensures the integrity of the applications is maintained with a continuous lifecycle process following regular upgrades, testing procedures and monitoring.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the system and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems, including making appropriate recommendations to process owners
  • Ensures system administration of corporate applications are completed as required
  • Lead and/or assist with system enhancements, coordinating system configurations and testing, and training of end users when appropriate
  • Collaborate with other IT members in the design, development, and support of integrations between corporate applications
  • Creates and fosters a "customer-centric" culture in all team interactions
  • Supports organizational change management activities (training and communication).
  • Ensures the team including extended delivery vendors and partners have clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; ensures clear performance expectations are documented for each team member

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading small teams
  • Experience as an active coach to elevate the team's potential
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent work experience would be considered
  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in systems and applications management including systems/application design, business analysis, process engineering, solutions management, or other related areas
  • Understanding of real estate and key related business processes across multiple asset classes (office, industrial, retail, residential and development)
  • Experience supporting large enterprise applications including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with preference in Yardi Voyager OR other Yardi products
  • Experience with Enterprise Performance Management Tools
  • Understanding of change management in an enterprise environment
  • Exceptional communications skills
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization
  • Excel at analysis and problem-solving
  • Experience working on projects that involve multiple business units
  • Experience implementing application development and support quality guidelines, standards, and procedures
