What you'll do

The role of the Product Quality Specialist is to contribute to the objectives of the Product Quality Assurance (PQA) department by implementing effective policies and tools that enhance the quality of products and positively influence customer perceptions of products available at Canadian Tire. By leveraging their expertise, the Product Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive high-quality products that meet their expectations.

  • Reviewing Resource Planner, Line Review Tracker, and Quality Management Plans to ensure that day-to-day tasks are on schedule.

  • Communicating with vendors to ensure a clear understanding of test plan requirements and workflow.

  • Coordinating with the Pacific Rim Office, Merchandising Team, and 3rd Party Service Providers to align test plans and sample requirements.

  • Scheduling Quality Management Plans and ensuring timely delivery of samples to laboratories, while tracking testing progress.

  • Preparing and conducting Quality Assurance Kick-Off meetings with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Brand, and Product Development Teams. This includes communicating and tracking milestones, advising team members of their responsibilities, and educating teams on Quality Assurance processes.

  • Collecting and verifying product certification documents from vendors.

  • Coordinating After-Sales Service requirements, which includes managing parts availability and inventory, collecting product documentation such as manuals and spare parts lists from vendors and providing technical information to Call Center and Repair Center staff

What you bring

  • A university degree in business or engineering.

  • 1-3 years of experience in project coordination within a product development/engineering/quality environment, preferably in the retail or manufacturing sector.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Proficiency in reviewing technical documents, certifications, and regulatory requirements related to service providers and vendors.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly express requirements and expectations for various processes.

  • Strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Experience in managing deadlines and monitoring progress across teams to ensure timely project delivery.
