What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with extensive experience in SAP ECC, specifically within the SAP MM (Materials Management) module. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience working in complex organizational matrix structures, supporting large-scale SAP implementations and transformations.
As an SAP ABAP Developer at RBC, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing SAP solutions that support procurement and supply chain processes within the bank.
What will you do?
Develop, customize, and enhance SAP ABAP programs within the SAP ECC (MM module) to support procurement and supply chain processes.
Work on SAP implementation projects, system upgrades, and technical enhancements.
Develop and maintain custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects).
Collaborate with functional teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather technical requirements and deliver business-aligned solutions.
Optimize existing SAP ABAP code for performance and efficiency.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAP MM-related processes.
Work with SAP workflow and IDocs to facilitate seamless system integration.
Participate in SAP data migration and conversion efforts as part of large-scale transformation projects.
Develop and maintain batch jobs and background processing using JCL (Job Control Language) where applicable.
Ensure compliance with RBC's IT security, governance, and quality standards.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
8-10 years of SAP ABAP development experience, with a strong focus on SAP ECC and MM module.
Expertise in RICEF development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
Deep understanding of SAP MM processes, including procurement, inventory management, and vendor management.
Strong skills in IDocs, BAPIs, BDCs, and User Exits.
Experience working in complex organizational matrix environments with multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with performance tuning, debugging, and troubleshooting in SAP ABAP.
Knowledge of SAP workflows and integration methodologies.
Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) is a strong plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and technical migration experience.
Experience with SAP Ariba or other procurement-related SAP solutions.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
Exposure to SAP BRF+ (Business Rules Framework).
Familiarity with banking or financial services industry processes.
Experience in Agile development environments.
