Job Description

MISSION

The Sr. Administrator, Network will report to the Team Lead of Network Services and will be responsible for reporting on LAN/WAN's and ensuring the stability and integrity of Indigo's overall network environment. The Sr. Network Administrator is responsible for configuring and managing Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls, Radius Appliances, Juniper Firewalls, Voice Infrastructure and F5 Load Balancer devices used in high volume Internet/Ecommerce infrastructure, as well as networks in the production, development/QA and stage environments. Finally, this position will also analyze and resolve network hardware /software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Participate in the planning, design, configuration and deployment of company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, load balancer, firewalls, UPSs, PDUs and other hardware to ensure that the network meets company performance and availability requirements.
  • Daily operational maintenance of existing network infrastructure. (Cisco, Fortigate, Motorola, Juniper, F5's). Phone systems (Cisco / Avaya VOIP, Nortel Option 11)
  • Design, plan and trouble-shoot network related problems in an enterprise environment with expertise in Cisco Routers, Switches, Load balancers, Firewalls and Intrusion Detection (IDS).
  • Plan and execute changes, installations, and provide support of networked computers and equipment
  • Liaise with vendors for new hardware and software acquisitions and keep appropriate maintenance agreements current and effective
  • Provide expert advice to other initiatives relying on network & infrastructure services
  • Provide, configure, design and lead the deployment of unified communications (voice, video, and VoIP network)
  • Provide, configure, design and deploy network solution for cloud based loads
  • Play a key role in maturing the network & telephony systems in the areas of routing, switching, security, collaboration (voice/video), wireless, physical data center standards and monitoring systems
  • Play a key in supporting DevOps team and design network services in the cloud
  • Collaborate daily with other IT teams to deliver on new projects
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo's customers

  • Variety of Canadian voice and data supplies, and technology vendors

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • College diploma in the field of Computer Science; University degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of equivalent work experience in a senior IT network position
  • CCNP, CCNP voice and CCIE designation is preferred or equal experience.
  • Experience with Routing, Switching, telecom switches (Meridian), voice mail systems and Cisco IP telephony experience
  • Good understanding of PCI DSS 3.2 compliance is required
  • Strong working knowledge of network/internet Protocols/Services such as VoIP,
  • GigE, 10/100 Ethernet, OSPF, EIGRP, DNS, TCP/IP, IPSec & NAT.
  • Must have experience with Cisco 1800, 2600 series routers, 6509's, 3900's switches. Juniper Firewall and F5 BigIP.

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Familiarity with operation, management and fault diagnosis of real time transaction processing systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent knowledge of WIFI, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Intrusion Detection Systems, and other network security infrastructure/monitoring tools.
  • Proven experience in leading small to large technical projects with demonstrated
  • oral and written ability to communicate with team members.
  • Must know when to ask for assistance, and when to provide assistance collaboratively.
  • Must be approachable, teachable, and a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding their experience in a highly evolving security focused environment
  • Experience with network asset management, including maintenance of network components, inventory and related documentation.

Other (travel, Bilingual, etc.)

  • Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary to minimize business

interruption during planned or unplanned network/system modifications.

  • Prepared to work off hours and travel as required (10-20% with GTA)
