Senior Manager, Platform Governance

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Platform Governance to drive our Power Platform governance initiatives and create a robust framework and related guardrails for RBC's enterprise-wide low-code/no-code (LCNC) development environment.

This role is pivotal in fostering secure, compliant, and effective LCNC development while maintaining RBC' standards.

The ideal candidate will lead the governance framework for LCNC platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform and low-code/no-code (LCNC) initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, compliance standards, and data security.

What will you do?

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive governance frameworks, including data protection, security, and compliance measures for Power Platform and low-code/no-code initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Design and implement automated security scanning and deployment strategies for LCNC initiatives utilizing RBC's development platform, ensuring efficient and streamlined workflows. Develop and enforce platform policies, security controls, and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to organizational requirements in partnership with enterprise groups. Create and maintain environment management strategies, including the dev/test/prod lifecycle, to ensure seamless transitions and efficient platform operation. Develop data governance policies and security frameworks, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining data integrity. Design and implement monitoring and compliance reporting systems for platform usage, providing visibility into platform performance and adherence to established standards. Develop a platform adoption roadmap and create internal advocacy and communication plans to foster widespread adoption and optimal utilization of the Power Platform.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT governance, with at least 3 years focused on low-code/no-code platforms
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform administration and governance
  • Hands on experience of Microsoft Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management
  • Experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide governance policies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Leadership Competencies:

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
  • Track record of successful stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation
  • Ability to balance governance requirements with business agility

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications
  • Experience with enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
