What is the opportunity?

Support CDMARS (Commercial Delivery Model and Advisor Strategy) Data Governance & Data Strategy, with responsibilities on optimizing processes and reporting, analytics, and data connections around a core set of Big Data platforms for the Commercial Segment. Responsible for analysis, design, and implementation of data process & automation, leveraging RBC's enterprise suite of analytical tools. To provide direction related to the identification of process efficiency/effectiveness improvements, problem resolution and the integration/implementation of predictive models to improve capability, reduce complexity, and aid in the delivery of Commercial data strategy. Contributes to the achievement of strategic business objectives and delivers innovative change to support the Commercial roadmap & Role analytics.

What will you do?

Driving Data Strategy

  • Senior role to advance Commercial Data Analytics Capabilities and the promotion of analytical tools and technology adoption;
  • Point of contact for Data Analytics & strategic alignment to Commercial Banking Priorities and initiatives;
  • Aid in the centralization of data-sources and connections adding Governance to a common framework across Commercial Banking;
  • Create routines to enable collaborative reporting and holistic data analytics for Commercial Banking;
  • Champion DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) development practices. Creating solutions once, to be used many times.

Hands-on data analytics and applications.

  • Manage Use Cases, specific to Commercial Banking on Data Analytic;
  • Construct Data Models to demonstrate behavior monitoring and trends;
  • Facilitate the turn-over of data to analytics and insights.

Contribute to Overall effectiveness of Commercial Banking Data Insights & Analytics

  • Technology / Processes / Tools - Facilitate the turn-over of data to analytics and insights;
  • Liaise with partner groups, help in the coordination of partnership with DA (Distribution Analytics), DNA (Data and Analytics), PMR (Performance Management Reporting) and other analytics groups.

Transformational

  • Identifies and executes on opportunities to improve productivity;
  • Proactively identifies innovative opportunities to enhance role experience and business/process efficiency and effectiveness. Understands full impact of end to end business process and balances converging forces of superior client experience and business results accordingly;
  • Coordinates with National Office, CDMARS and DA to ensure effective collection of accurate and timely data from all sources; works to insure productivity data can be used for ongoing and ad-Hoc data driven insights;
  • Works as an integral part of the DI&A team, introducing and educating people to new value-added approaches ;
  • Responsible for production and accuracy for DI&A reporting - Role, Incentive, Capabilities and leadership reporting;
  • Support small "I" builds and ensures tools are compliant to current guidelines.

Support Incentive Strategy and Role Design Team

  • Supports existing incentive ETL infrastructure on an exception basis;
  • Develops infrastructure to facilitate enhanced governance of managed programs;
  • Participates in high priority projects relating to CDMARS data;
  • Explores new data sources to migrate to system tracked from employee tracked data to evolve managed program;
  • Collaborates and consults on future existing models.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Experience with big data technologies and familiarity with range of data tools (Big Data Tools, Datameer, Teradata, SQL, Python);
  • Experience with project management and stakeholder management;
  • Experience in statistical methods;
  • Strong ETL principles around data and logic, cleaning and mining;
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders;
  • Strong knowledge of design, development, and implementation experience utilizing data science technologies;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to navigate complex problem statements and deliver progress on data initiatives.

Nice to have:

  • Datameer and/or other BI Tools experience;
  • Commercial segment & business products knowledge;
  • Tableau and other visualization tools experience;
  • System implementation and business case creation experience;
  • Python & PySpark automation experience.
