The Advanced Observability team offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of product, innovation, and strategy; shaping the future of RBC's Cyber Technology Observability. What will you do?

  • Design and implement intuitive, real-time dashboards using modern front-end technologies to visualize key metrics and alerts for system observability.

  • Create and enhance APIs that allow seamless integration between tools/technologies and other systems within the organization.

  • Develop and optimize back-end services for ingesting, processing, and querying large volumes of logs and telemetry data.

  • Collaborate with the team to implement distributed tracing solutions, ensuring end-to-end visibility.

  • Develop automated alerting systems that proactively notify teams of performance issues or anomalies using custom-built rules.

  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance of observability tools, ensuring they can handle scale and deliver near real-time insights with minimal latency.

  • Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure observability solutions are effectively integrated into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

  • Implement best practices for data security and compliance, ensuring all telemetry and logs are handled securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Work in an Agile environment using Jira to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Front-End Development: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Front-End Framework/Libraries, UI/UX Design, Version Control

  • Back-End Development: JavaScript, Python, Relational Databases (PostgreSQL or similar), APIs, Authentication & Authorization

  • DevOps and Deployment: Version Control (Git), CI/CD, Containerization, Automation & Scripting

Nice-to-Have:

  • Mobile Development

  • GraphQL
