What will your typical day look like?


Within the capacity of this role, you will oversee day-to-day treasury operations and serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to senior leadership. You will implement and manage cash flow forecast models, strategize, and advise in the Firm's investment of excess cash positions, manage the Firm's Syndicated Credit Facility, manage risk associated with FX and Interest Rates, support key Treasury controls, manage access to the Firm's banking portals, etc. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from various areas within the Firm including, but not limited to, FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Financial Advisory. We are looking for a thought leader with an inquisitive mindset that will lead the way towards an innovative and best-in-class Treasury function. Successful candidates for this role should possess strong written/oral communication skills and a sound Corporate Treasury background. In addition, the successful candidate must be a self-starter, highly organized, have a hands-on approach, be able to articulate Treasury ideas & concepts to a broad and diverse audience, and possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and dynamic environment with many competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Problem-solve and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to support the Firm and Deloitte's businesses
  • Build processes, establish metrics and stand-up a structure that supports funding needs and overall day-to-day operations
  • Manage firm-wide cash positions and liquidity balances in adherence to policy limits
  • Oversee and manage daily reporting that provides visibility of intraday liquidity positions and metrics to ensure the Firm meets day-to-day obligations, financial covenants, Global liquidity metrics, etc. in both normal and stressed conditions and in accordance with policy limits and banking agreements
  • Manage firm-wide cash positions and optimize cash balances by determining the most efficient sources and uses of funds. Identify opportunities to maximize and invest excess cash
  • Manage financial covenant compliance with primary lenders including the assimilation of financial reports and detail necessary to perform related calculations
  • Manage the optimization of corporate operating bank accounts which including but not limited to opening/closing, maintaining appropriate signatories across the various Firm entities, liaising and being the Treasury Lead on periodic banking audits
  • Coordinate with Data Analytics / Management Reporting team to deliver an automated set of processes involved with compiling Cash Management spreadsheets
  • Maintain and enhance content in the daily Cash Position Summary reports.
  • Through coordination with various teams (i.e., Management Reporting, Controllership, Technical Accounting, etc.), develop and maintain a Treasury Dashboard for the Firm leveraging tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, etc.
  • Maintain a set of Desktop Operating Procedures
  • Maintain and enhance the Deloitte Wallet, identifying and monitoring strategic banking relationships with the Firm
  • Develop and maintain a FX monitoring report to the Firm's USD exposure. Ensure that natural hedges are in place and where reasonable develop a hedging strategy and program. Develop an understanding of FX risk management mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain a model to track and monitor interest rates in the Canadian economy to ensure that the Firm is well positioned to absorb and manage interest rate risk

About the team


The Deloitte Canada Treasury and Partner Accounting Team functions as a strategic partner within the broader Chief Accounting Office and supports our internal clients in a Business Advisor capacity with a specific focus on strategic insights and initiatives, collaboration, financial reporting, and analysis. We are currently looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst - Treasury with an understanding and an interest in all things Corporate Treasury, with a particular focus on cash management, process improvement, analytics, and forecasting, to help support Deloitte's operations and strategy.

You are someone who has:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Commerce, Economics, or related field(s)
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in Finance / Accounting with a concentration in Corporate Treasury
  • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and analytical skills, with an ability to draw insights and convey complex information in a straightforward / concise manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, logical and efficient with keen attention to detail and a confident ability to communicate to a diverse group of leaders across the Firm
  • Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills combined with effective articulation and execution of ideas
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish top priorities amongst competing deadlines and objectives with minimal direction

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
