What is the opportunity?

As Senior Director, Operational Data Management and Transformation for Personal and Commercial Operations (PCO), you will shape the future of banking data in operations. You will lead a team of data engineers, focused on preparing data for reporting, analytics and artificial intelligence applications. Your strategic vision will drive collaboration with key partners across the enterprise, to create an authoritative, AI-ready source of data that will empower decision-making and innovation. You will be at the forefront of a data revolution, transforming the way we understand and engage with customers, and unlocking new opportunities for growth and efficiency within the banking sector.

What will you do?

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of data engineers to architect, design, and implement data models that efficiently and securely prepare data for reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise, including IT, business units, and data science groups, to develop and maintain an authoritative source of AI-ready data.
  • Drive the creation and execution of an operational data management roadmap that aligns with the organization's goals and policies, focusing on data quality, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee the transformation of raw data into valuable insights by implementing advanced data modeling and data integration practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
  • Engage with senior leadership to communicate progress, align on data initiatives, and ensure that data strategies support the overall vision and objectives of Personal and Commercial Banking Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards pertaining to data security, privacy, and ethical use of data.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of data management activities

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 7+ years' experience in leading data management initiatives and transformation projects within the banking or financial services industry
  • Expertise in implementing data quality and data integration processes to ensure the accuracy, reusability and reliability of data used for reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence applications
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams of data engineers and technical professionals
  • Extensive knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance practices, with a focus on creating AI-ready datasets
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including IT, analytics, business units, and executive leadership to drive data strategy and execution

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and understanding of their application in data transformation
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data privacy standards relevant to the banking industry
