What is the opportunity?

RBC's Intelligent Operation team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to develop AI-driven solutions that enhance and optimize IT operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying data science models that solve complex challenges in the IT domain. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to create impactful AI solutions that drive business value.

At Intelligent Operation, you'll be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team that works alongside machine learning engineers, data engineers, and product managers to push the boundaries of AI innovation to shape the future of IT operations. What will you do?

  • Develop and enhance AI solutions - Build new data science and AI models or improve existing products to drive impactful business initiatives.

  • Understand stakeholder needs - Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective AI-driven solutions.

  • Data exploration and analytics - Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and communicate findings that inform business decisions.

  • Visualization & Reporting: Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights and model outputs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Machine Learning Development: Build, test, and deploy machine learning models for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and resource optimization.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Experience - Over two years of hands-on experience developing data science and machine learning solutions.

  • Education - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • Programming Skills - Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and model development.

  • Big Data Expertise - Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Spark and Hadoop.

  • Machine Learning & AI Knowledge - Deep understanding of ML/AI algorithms, including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP, and graph analytics.

  • LLMs & Generative AI - Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.

  • Cloud Computing - Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS for ML model deployment and data infrastructure.

  • Communication Skills - Strong ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.

Nice-to-Have:

  • IT Operations Exposure - Familiarity with networking, system administration, and storage.

  • ServiceNow & Change Management - Knowledge of ServiceNow and IT service management processes.

  • AIOps - Familiarity with AIOps platforms (e.g., Moogsoft, Dynatrace, Splunk) or observability tools.
