What You Will Do

Reporting to the Chief Project Manager, the Manager of Project Technical Assurance is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and handover of all projects within the Major Projects portfolio to Operations and end user group. This role involves early and ongoing involvement in each project, providing technical support and advice on, track engineering, signal and systems integration, building systems integration, operations and maintenance coordination, testing, commissioning, acceptance and handover. Using Building Information modelling (BIM) and providing constructability analysis at every stage.

The Project Technical Assurance Manager, in collaboration with project teams including Project Directors, Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers, will be primarily responsible for supporting project teams to ensure that projects delivered by the TTC Major Projects Group are constructable & maintainable, and are commissioned, handed over, and accepted by the TTC Operations and end user groups promptly. The manager will review, adopt, and/or modify existing TTC processes and procedures to ensure timely and seamless transfer of newly constructed assets into the operational environment.

Required to visit construction sites that includes stations and yards which could result in exposure to noise, dirt, grease and moving equipment.

What Skills Do You Bring?

• Well-developed research, investigative, and analytical skills; ability to problem solve using critical thinking and make recommendations to senior management.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills; strong client management, communication (written and verbal), presentation and conflict resolution skills to collaborate at all levels, working with team members, senior management, and process owners.
• Sound judgement and ability to recommend and implement process improvements and solutions to solve complex issues.
• Strong planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in software applications relevant to the work and area of responsibility (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint).

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

• Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. engineering), plus extensive years of experience specializing in project management, project controls, engineering, or construction environment; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent with a specific focus on systems interface and integration, along with testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Experience in setting up and managing testing, commissioning and handover processes.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in quality and design integration management/assurance theory, principles and practice.
• Experience in the development, implementation and management of quality and interface management programs for complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience and knowledge with interfacing various systems in a transit oriented and facilities environment along with extensive knowledge and experience in testing, commissioning, and handover of large facilities.
• Experience in constructing transit oriented facilities with a preference in an operating environment.
• Knowledge of engineering and/or construction practices and standards.
• Knowledge and basic understanding of procurement and engineering documentation and technical drawings (As-built, Issued for Construction (IFC), Foreign Prints and Shop Drawings).
