Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Applications, the Manager, Marketing & Logistics Applications is responsible for overseeing the SAP-based ECC systems in their portfolio to achieve business objectives and constraints. This portfolio will enable Teck to process sales and financial transactions for refined metals and concentrates produced in North and South America. Thus, this position will be key to Teck realizing its cash flow forecasts.

Working closely with business partners and ERP teams, alongside leading a small team of analysts and SAP technology professionals, this role will ensure that the systems in the portfolio are accurately configured. In doing so, this individual will provide the necessary transactions, ensure the integrity of the transaction data, and lead SAP application access security. This outstanding individual will also evaluate opportunities for improvement in the SAP application, and recommend enhancements to the Marketing and Logistics team!

This role requires people leadership skills, SAP functional expertise (Sales & Distribution functional configuration), and an understanding of sales distribution and accounting business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

  • Collaborate with business partners and technology teams to ensure that Teck enhances the value of the investment in the SAP-based portfolio. Sustain and evolve existing solutions, manage the roadmap, and implement business requirements to ensure the portfolio meets business objectives

  • Lead the team of analysts and SAP technology professionals who are responsible for SAP application development & support, SAP Basis, or SAP governance & risk control to meet business requirements and to handle Teck access and technology risk

  • Sustain technical solutions in alignment with established SLOs, delivers new features and implementations to plan

  • Specify the changes and assess the effort required to process transactions associated with additional refined metal, concentrate and chemical products

  • Analyze and assist in solving SAP business system problems to specify the solution and direct the implementation of the changes necessary to align with Teck's detailed change management procedures

  • Analyze current business processes as implemented in SAP for efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Collaborate with business partners to develop and maintain business continuity and recovery plans

  • Guide the development of training programs and deliver training to end users to ensure that all procedures are understood

  • Act as the primary contributor to the curation of action plans for the orderly introduction and integration of new or upgraded systems

  • Engage with the copper and zinc business units to guarantee that their services expectations are being satisfied by the SAP solution and the supporting services

Qualifications

  • College or University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5-10 years of experience in software application development and leading applications teams

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role of technology teams and application portfolios

  • Relevant certifications in software development, project management, or IT management (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Scrum Master)

  • SAP knowledge and experience is critical including: SAP SD Functional expertise, SAP FI Functional knowledge preferred, SAP ABAP knowledge and hands-on experience preferred, SAP IS-MINE knowledge preferred

  • Proficiency with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), project management, and applications lifecycle management

  • Experience with business applications, integrations and data management

  • Experience in mining and base metals sales is an asset

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to interact effectively with technical and non-technical team members

Salary Range: $144,000 - $178,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
