Manager, Cybersecurity

The Manager, Cybersecurity, is a hands-on leadership position responsible for executing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard our organization's digital infrastructure, systems, and data. This role requires a leader that will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, privacy and risk, data management and business operations, to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and implement a robust cybersecurity framework. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to stay ahead of emerging threats and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

As the leader of the Cybersecurity team, the Manager will work with internal and external cybersecurity resources, and with business partners to fulfill these responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the VP, Architecture, Cybersecurity & Integration, assist in executing the overall cybersecurity strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization's goals, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and systems.
  • Lead and manage a 4 - 7-person cybersecurity team (employees and contractors), providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Maintain and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of various technical controls, tools, and technology, including SOC operations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize threats, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Support the maintenance and testing of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan, and coordinate responses to security incidents, breaches, and data loss event under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate cybersecurity considerations into system development lifecycles and third-party vendor management processes, providing input on cybersecurity measures during project planning and execution.
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to anticipate potential risks and recommend appropriate security measures.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on the organization's cybersecurity posture, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and train employees on safe computing practices, data protection, and incident response protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, including leadership roles in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) required.
  • Expertise in risk management, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of network security, application security, cloud security, and identity and access management (IAM) concepts.
  • Familiarity with real estate industry-specific security challenges and solutions is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or equivalent is preferred.
