Role Description
The Manager, Communications is responsible for building public awareness of both QuadReal's and Parkbridge's purposes, brands and businesses. With a primary focus on QuadReal's Canadian portfolio, including the residential asset class, as well as Parkbridge Resorts and Communities, this role will be responsible for the development of corporate communications strategies to support business growth. Reporting to the Director, Communications the successful candidate will support media and government relations activities, alongside senior members of the QuadReal team. Adept in media relations, the manager will also be responsible for coordinating responses to media inquiries and assisting with issues management and crisis communications. This candidate must have a multidisciplinary background, along with the willingness to flex media, branding and public affairs skills within the broader communications team.
Job Responsibilities:
Public Affairs
Develop a solid understanding of the practical implications of government policy at a local, provincial and federal level as relates to the real estate and more specifically, residential sector in Canada.
Monitor and track the impact of legislation on the residential sector; draft backgrounders and updates to advise senior leadership.
Write, edit and develop content to be issued on various external channels, as well as among key stakeholder audiences (government, industry, peers, and partners).
Work with senior QuadReal Residential leadership in engaging with external stakeholders to advance organizational initiatives, policies and priorities for the business.
Support community relations activities, sponsorships and engagements.
Communications and Media Relations:
Support the development of corporate communications materials, case studies and campaigns.
Leverage research insights and analytics to drive communications activities and track results, for both internal and external activation.
Oversee the creation of digital and social content. Understand and explore various mediums of communications to reach various target audiences - consumer and business.
Identify and assess relevant media issues, news, and events by proactively monitoring industry and market-related events.
Provide strategic counsel and advice to senior management and spokespeople on their interactions with media and at conferences.
Develop senior leadership speaker program and preparation for all activities.
Engage and respond to media inquiries, assist in the management of significant issues.

Qualifications:
Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a related position, including previously supporting senior leadership.
A university degree in a related field of study is considered an asset, though an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Experience in fast paced environments, this individual should be a self-starter, be able to lead projects and motivate others with their collaborative nature and willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Strong knowledge of public policy, government processes and legislation.
Able to articulate complex ideas and influence key decision makers and industry partners.
Experience with project management and program delivery, including budget management and deployment.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrates sensitivity and tact in interpersonal relations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed public speaking skills.
