Manager Business Informatics Analytics and Operations (Job ID: 6489)

The Manager is responsible for a team of consultants and manages all business systems technical infrastructure, applications, tools and business processes. The individual must rely on extensive business, IT, application and project management experience to plan and accomplish work packages. The person will lead and direct the work of others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Director, Business Informatics, Analytics and Operations in the development of the annual strategic plan for business support and performance as well as the execution of tactics needed to implement the strategic plan.
  • Works collaboratively with the IT managers in the development of the annual strategic plan for business IT infrastructure development and maintenance as well as the execution of tactics needed to implement the strategic plan
  • Works collaboratively with the Business directors in the development of the annual strategic plan for business optimization and operational support, as well as the execution of tactics needed to implement the strategic plan
  • Manages and executes strategy for driving transformational change in business data analytics, business system processes and business operational processes
  • Collaborates with business managers to drive the execution of long range strategies to support and ensure the successful realization of corporate, operational and business strategic direction.
  • Collaborates with business managers to ensure completion of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, treasury, research and trust accounting, capital, taxation and special projects as delegated by the Executive Vice President, Corporate Services & CFO, Finance.

  • Business applications and tools - development, implementation and/or upgrade
  • Risk management mitigation
  • Business transition and integration
  • System compliance and audit management;
  • Standardization of business systems processes
  • Business system quality and performance management
  • Change management and communications
  • Pursue operational excellence by sustainably meeting and exceeding performance targets
  • Manage special projects and other related initiatives. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to lead and support cross-functional projects (e.g. budgeting and business systems integration).
  • Manages BI team through the collaboration and management of customer groups in order to identify opportunities to introduce new technology capabilities for improved productivity and/or effectiveness.
  • Manage adhoc end user training, mentoring and/or temporary role assignment
  • Determining training gaps and providing education sessions on business and/or application processes, integrated procedures & transaction life cycles
  • Backfilling urgent operational roles, since BI has significant working knowledge of over 60 business departmental roles
  • Manage application development and maintenance. Building and maintaining in-house tools / applications / processes in order to meet business specific requirements.
  • Manage advanced / integrated adhoc analysis, analytics and reporting
  • Responsible for managing the BI consultants
  • Accountable for fostering an environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement and growth.
  • Responsible for adopting a culture of valuing staff by demonstrating commitment to staff success, offering development and progression and creating a supportive environment for a diverse workforce.
  • Providing direction and leadership for the team as a coach and mentor; defining accountabilities while directing and supporting the achievement of performance goals, within functional area of responsibility.
  • Conducting performance reviews of direct reports on an annual basis and/or as required, to ensure excellence in the provision of work activities. Takes appropriate corrective action, where appropriate, up to and including termination, if needed.
  • Developing and executing strategies to ensure appropriate systems are in place to facilitate succession planning and appropriate management of vacancy.
  • Supporting and ensuring staff have opportunities for professional development, career advancement, department wide training and educational opportunities.
  • Responsible for driving and executing continuous improvement changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Equivalent
  • Accounting Designation (CPA-CA; CPA-CMA, CPA-CGA, or equivalent) OR 10+ years project management related experience required
  • Project Management designation (PMP or equivalent) OR 10+ years project management related experience required
  • Minimum five (5) years of business, technical and managerial experience
  • Minimum five (10) years of experience in functional design, implementation and support of large scale business systems.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience using project management tools and methodologies to successfully execute large scale projects
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of advanced programming experience
  • Minimum five (5) years HealthCare Experience
  • Experience with major ERP applications required
  • Proficient in analyzing relational database schemas
  • Extensive experience developing project plans to meet business objectives
  • Extensive experience developing and managing project budgets. Excellent financial acumen with the ability to forecast and develop operational and other budgets required
  • Demonstrated experience building and developing highly effective teams
  • Demonstrated experience improving and automating business processes through the application of technology
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products: Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Project
  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to apply them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas. Highly analytical so as to be able to identify gaps or address issues/pain points. Must be able to visualize, articulate, conceptualize and/or solve problems.
  • Ability to understand key data elements to measure and manage performance and to determine expected outcomes and support programs to achieve target outcomes
  • Proficiency in dealing with technology, vendors, strategies and tactics
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing complex concepts/information to all levels of staff/external customers to address sensitive and other situations, resolve conflicts, motivate, negotiate/persuade others at all levels
  • Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner while taking accountability for own actions. Self-directed to continuously update knowledge as business and system changes occur.
