Career Opportunity

Our Plant Maintenance Department has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance & Job Planner to join its Facilities team! You will organize and maintain information (documents, schedules, work methods/programs), co-ordinate and monitor systems, and develop applications or other systems to support the business needs of the Department.

What You Will Do

• Planning, adjusting, and projecting work, schedules, costs, and systems as needed
• Align the processes and actions of Sections and people in order to achieve an objective.
• Create materials and resources (e.g., work plans, work schedules, process maps, reports, etc.) to be delivered or used with relevant sections or staff.
• Observe progress of a process and/or system closely, review, document, record, maintain, and adjust as needed based on feedback.
• Provide assistance in the preparation, development, monitoring, or other needs for a given project or organizational unit.
• Liaise with other colleagues, support staff, other departments, and potentially external customers or stakeholders concerning routine matters related to the work assigned.
• Verify the accuracy, quality, reliability, functionality, system requirements, and/or specifications are met in a given process, document, piece of equipment, system, or work method.
• Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in Engineering or Construction management discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Must have a valid non-probationary Province of Ontario G Class Driver's License.
  • Project Management Professional designation would be an asset.
  • Ability to comprehend drawings and present information in an easy to understand and easy to use format is required.
  • Proven skills in the application of practices and procedures involved in maintenance planning and implementation.
  • Good knowledge of relevant government legislation/regulations such as but not limited to: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Building Code, etc.
  • You are familiar with construction and maintenance activities and have previous experience in planning and costing in a technical environment.
  • You have proven skills in applying the practices and procedures involved in scheduling and cost control functions.
  • Hands on experience in planning, preparing and analyzing logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts for construction projects and workforce activities.
  • You have strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, data validation, etc.) and are also proficient with either Power BI or Crystal Reports.
  • You have demonstrated experience with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project) and CMMS (i.e. Maximo), and the ability to obtain information from numerous sources in order to
  • analyze, prepare and maintain progress schedules.
  • Experience in process analysis, Six sigma and Lean principles are an asset.
  • You have sound judgement and good analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
