Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

As a Senior Lead Architect in GFT Risk Architecture team you will have opportunity to develop and socialize end-to-end solution for regulatory and business initiatives based on collaboration with business and technology leaders with alignment to enterprise architecture, technology standards and industry best practices. Influence in decision making and facilitate teams with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization.

What will you do?

  • Work with technical teams, business partners (Group Risk Management) across RBC application groups and 3rd parties to understand the current state and identify constraints in defining the target state architecture for applications & related interfaces.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with Enterprise architecture areas, Application Development, RBC business groups, Technology Infrastructure, and others (Data Architecture, Security Architecture).
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to build architecture solution blueprint, 5-Year roadmap, business capability model, technical design solution, business architecture, develop strategy, participate in architecture governance process and provide assistance to business partners and technology teams.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have

  • Experience working in credit risk systems and regulatory programs.
  • Experience in building data application systems and data pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge on different architecture/design techniques (e.g. Microservices architecture, Cloud Native applications, Event-Driven Architecture, Orchestrations, Data Pipelines), modern and legacy technology platforms (e.g. Kafka, Kubernetes, RBDMS, NoSQL, Data Lake, Data warehouse, Data Lakehouse)
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
  • Experience in designing resilient enterprise applications, distributed computing engines using On Premises and Cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience in solutions architecture, with a focus on large-scale, complex environments. Strong understanding of architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience in DevOps, continuous integration and development tools and frameworks.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience in modernization of core applications
  • Experience with designing and implementing Azure/AWS/GCP cloud-based architectural solutions and cloud data platform technologies
  • Experience in data lake (Hadoop, hive) and distributed processing engines such as (Spark)
  • Experience in programming languages (Python/Java)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (application performance, log monitoring and infrastructure monitoring)
