Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Policy & Governance Technology team is looking for a Solution Architect who will bring their passion and leadership to enhance the strategic roadmap and design of our Archer GRC and Policy Platforms with the goal of exceeding our business stakeholders' expectations in design, execution, and user experience. This role will be responsible for leading the design of comprehensive GRC solutions across Operational Risk, Third Party Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and IT Risk with a focus on stakeholder management and developing roadmaps aligned with their business objectives.

This role requires a balance of hands-on technical ability, strategic insight, and strong communication to ensure the Archer platform delivers maximum value to the organization's risk and compliance functions.

What will you do?

  • Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performing Archer solutions that align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for the Archer platform, guiding development teams in implementing best practices and ensuring architectural consistency across projects.
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and functional requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and architect solutions that address current needs and future scalability.
  • Integration Management: Design integration strategies with existing systems (ERP, CRM, or custom applications), ensuring data flows seamlessly between Archer and other enterprise platforms.
  • Customization & Configuration: Leverage your deep understanding of the Archer platform to customize workflows, dashboards, and reports, meeting the unique needs of the organization.
  • Risk and Compliance Optimization: Work closely with GRC teams to enhance risk management, regulatory compliance, and IT risk capabilities by maximizing the value of the Archer platform.
  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Train and mentor junior developers, system administrators, and key stakeholders on best practices and emerging trends within the Archer and broader GRC ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that the solutions meet organizational objectives, are delivered on time, and adhere to industry standards.
  • Documentation & Governance: Ensure that all architectural decisions, processes, and changes are documented in accordance with organizational governance policies and procedures.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Extensive Experience with Archer Platform: 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Archer, including architecture, design, and configuration of complex GRC solutions.
  • Strong Technical Background: Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-level applications with a focus on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms.
  • System Integration Experience: Deep understanding of integration methodologies (API, Web Services, SQL) and the ability to integrate Archer with other enterprise systems.
  • Solid Understanding of GRC Principles: Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC, SOX), audit processes, and regulatory requirements that Archer is designed to address.
  • Programming and Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Archer technologies (e.g., Data Feeds, ODA, Scheduled Jobs) and languages and data structures like JavaScript, Python, XML, or SQL for customization and automation.
  • Architectural Best Practices: Proven track record in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures, particularly within vendor-based applications.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex business requirements and technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly explain complex technical concepts, and translate business requirements into actionable technical strategies.

Nice to have:

  • RSA Archer Certified: RSA Archer Certified Professional (ACP) or RSA Archer Certified Consultant (ACC) certification is highly desirable.
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying GRC solutions in a cloud or hybrid environment.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Experience with advanced reporting tools, business intelligence (BI) platforms, and data visualization technologies within the Archer ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of DevOps Practices: Exposure to DevOps principles, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines as they apply to Archer solution delivery.
  • Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile development and delivery processes.
  • Security Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC, indicating a deep understanding of security and risk management in relation to GRC solutions.
  • Experience in Regulated Industries: Prior experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, energy) where risk and compliance are critical operational factors.
