Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Lead Software Developer leads in the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.

What will you do?

  • Working as SME for a home grown core banking application that runs on IBMi (iSeries/AS400) platform.

  • Analyzing features such as feasibility, associated costs, time, and the compatibility of new programs with existing programs, and hardware. Ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved.

  • Leading and architecting IT solutions end to end.

  • Provide technical leadership for enhancements that are part of the International Core Banking application.

  • Provide insights required to senior leadership to help build the roadmap and strategy for the core banking portfolio.

  • Consulting on business assessment and requirements analysis processes, for the development of hardware and operating systems.

  • Performing complex application programming activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying complex applications programs.

  • Coordinating coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions.

  • Managing various aspects of the portfolio like budget, staff, contractors and vendors.

  • Managing the performance and people management aspects of a team of 5-6.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Expert in IBMi(AS400/iSeries) platform with hands-on coding experience in COBOL/400, SQL/400, CL etc.

  • Experienced in people management.

  • Working with senior leaders to build roadmap and multi-year strategy.

  • Core Banking, Payments, Retail & Whole products experience (lending, deposits, foreign exchange).

Nice to have :

  • Experienced with Web APIs, Cloud Computing and Event based architecture

  • IBMi Modernization experience

  • Core Banking migration experience

  • Relevant program management certification
