What is the opportunity?
Join RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) in this key business development position. You will be responsible for supporting GAM's global institutional business development efforts by populating all aspects of consultant and 3rd party databases with firm and strategy data that is complete, accurate, timely and consistent. What will you do?
Maintain GAM's firm and strategy profiles on consultant and 3rd party databases (such as eVestment and OMNI platform) by populating quantitative and qualitative data, e.g., performance, AUM, characteristics, allocations, holdings, personnel, narratives, ESG questionnaires, etc.
Work with the performance team, data team, RFP, marketing, client operations and client service teams to ensure consistency among 1) responses to consultant relations/business development requests; 2) RFP responses and DDQs; 3) marketing content; and 4) information and data provided via third-party questionnaires and databases.
Become Subject Matter Expert on consultant databases and its upstream, downstream data usage; Improve work flow efficiency by utilizing tools such as database querying tools and reports
Subject matter experts to populate qualitative and quantitative responses so that GAM delivers a consistent, clear message.
Responsible for regular/ad hoc consultant relations requests (e.g. monthly and quarterly data/information).
Establish relationships with the Product, Sales & Distribution and Consultant Relations teams, across the globe, to ensure relevant strategies/vehicles are being populated in databases.
Seek out industry trends to understand best practices and alternate approaches.
Collect and write business requirements from institutional business supporting projects
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
1-2 years of experience working with financial products with a good understanding of investment funds
Hands-on experience in building SQL queries within large dataset and building tableau reports
Proactive and positive approach to solve problems. Attention to details with strong quantitative and analytical skills
Highly collaborative individual with strong stakeholder management skills
Ability to work within specified timeframes and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and written communication skills are essential
Nice to have
Experience in populating and maintaining consultant/3rd party databases (e.g. eVestment, Mercer, Callan, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, computer science or related field
CFA designation or pursuing CFA designation is desirable, but not required
Experience in writing business requirements and workflow processes
