Desktop Technical Analyst

Permanent Full Time

The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) provides, specialized care to those individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation, Transitional care, and Palliative Care services. The care and services provided at TGHC help facilitate the patient flow through the health care system and ensures recovery to those individuals who may return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities. TGHC operates in 3 sites – the Main site (Church & Bloor St) and our Harbour Lights site and Specialized Care Centre (Victoria Park & McNicoll). Position Summary:

Reporting to IT Manager, The Desktop Technical Analyst will be required to provide IT quality support to end users, employing a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and timeliness. This individual must be capable in maintaining and providing training and support for Windows PCs/Laptops, printers, PDAs, phones, office applications and some clinical applications and manage inventory and the IT helpdesk tracking system. Some travel between sites will be required to support users and equipment. Responsibilities will also include assisting in the maintenance of network and telecommunication infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

College diploma or University degree in the field of computer science or related discipline with minimum of 2 years’ in a similar role required, preferably in a health care or broader public sector environment.

Hands-on experience in a Windows Active Directory environment and be able to demonstrate applied knowledge of these skills.

Must have thorough knowledge of current PC hardware standards, Microsoft Windows O/S 10, imaging and patching, Microsoft Office 365 and other common industry standard applications.

Experience in supporting a variety of PDA’s, mobile electronic devices such as IPhones, Ipads and Microsoft surface tablets using MDM solutions (such as MS Intune or Endpoint Manager).

Must have a thorough knowledge of current protocols/standards (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)

Ability to work independently and in a team with all levels of staff, management, vendors

Must have the physical strength, flexibility and endurance required to perform the job tasks as needed.

Must have basic computer networking skills and knowledge on Cisco L2 and L3 switches is an asset.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a methodical detail oriented approach to solutions.

Good communication (both verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate effectively in a professional healthcare environment with technical, clinical, administrative and non-technical interdisciplinary team members, management and outside vendors/consultants.

Able to operate with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, set priorities appropriately and maintain a professional demeanor under stress.

Willingness to learn new technology and grow within position.
