About the team

We are currently seeking Data Engineers to join our team on a 1-year term. As a Data Engineer at Deloitte, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure and systems to support the data needs of a leading North American Bank. This long-term staff augmentation role requires strong expertise in data engineering. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data pipelines and platforms.

What will your typical day look like?

Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Pipeline Development:
• Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Work with technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or cloud-based ETL services.


2. Data Modeling and Database Design:
• Design and implement data models and database schemas to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Understand business requirements, optimize data structures, and ensure data quality and integrity.


3. Data Integration and Transformation:
• Work with different data formats and sources, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Transform and cleanse data to make it usable for analysis, reporting, or machine learning purposes.


4. Data Platform Management:
• Manage and maintain data platforms, such as data warehouses, data lakes, or data streaming systems.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data security and compliance.


5. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize effective communication and collaboration skills to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver value to clients.


6. Continuous Learning and Improvement:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Continuously learn and improve your skills through training, certifications, and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

• Strong expertise in data engineering, including experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development.
• Proficiency with technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or cloud-based ETL services.
• Proven experience in data modeling and database design.
• Ability to work with various data formats and sources.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
