Role Description

The Building IOT and Data Engineering Specialist is a key role in creating value from the significant amounts of data our buildings produce, and delivering on the value proposition that optimizing the use of our data lowers our costs and increases our financial returns. Responsibilities of this role include deploying technology in the built environment (including IoT sensors & building systems, connectivity platforms, and data management / analytical tools) and communicating and collaborating with internal stakeholders, as well as the management of external parties and vendors. Applicants will demonstrate analytical experience using tools such as databases and scripting languages to solve analytical problems and working with large scale IoT / sensor data and cloud technologies (AWS / GCP / Azure). A strong acumen managing both data projects, and projecting managing the deployment of IoT infrastructure will be required.

Role Responsibilities

Lead the deployment of IoT technologies and pilots & PoC's for buildings across the QuadReal portfolio.

  • Lead and support the execution of Digital Building projects and pilots, technology deployments, building systems & IoT, and data analytics from initial project alignment, project requirements, integration, deployment, change management, and continued project maintenance
  • Support the vetting of technologies, hardware, and software systems
  • Provide technical support and administration of IoT vendors and infrastructure and manage vendors & partners, supporting internal stakeholders and property teams
  • Support framework development for support & roll-out programs for various portfolio technologies, and drive implementation
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert for various IoT Technologies including occupancy sensors, IEQ sensors, mobile access control, and other systems with an understanding of wired and wireless protocols and networking.
  • Support the Digital, Property & National Programs teams with the implementation, adoption, and operation modelling of new technologies being rolled out to buildings at scale across all asset classes.
  • Develop technology playbooks & standards to aid in existing and future projects globally

Lead and support Operational Technology (OT) data analytics initiatives, data management, and the implementation of data-driven use-cases across the QuadReal built-environments.

  • Support implementation, deployment, & management of a scalable OT data & technology infrastructure.
  • Lead and support implementation & management of various enhanced analytical capabilities to support the buildings and drive value.
  • Lead economic and ROI analyses to support business decision making and investment to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Work with property teams and Digital Buildings team to generate insightful data and IoT utilization use-cases and prepare detailed reports for various departments based on the analyzed data.
  • Enhance in-building connectivity, and drive quality outcomes through continuous improvement and data-driven approach.
  • Provide data validation of implemented and piloted IoT Technologies.
  • Work with external vendors, Digital Buildings team, and other internal business units on data analytics/machine learning initiatives, providing technical support, data management, and analysis.

Experience

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant technical field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience with wireless IoT technologies
  • 5+ years of analytical experience (sql, python, or similar).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills and tools
