The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Platform Lead to drive the strategic vision, development, and implementation of our enterprise technology platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of platform architecture, integration, and scalability, ensuring the delivery of secure, high-performing, and innovative technology solutions.

As a technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, and business stakeholders—to align platform capabilities with organizational objectives. You will play a key role in governing platform stability, optimizing performance, and leading future enhancements to support business growth and digital transformation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term platform strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, emerging technologies, and user experience enhancements.
  • Provide strategic direction and technical oversight, ensuring best practices in architecture, development, and operations. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, architects, and product managers.
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient platform architectures, ensuring seamless integration across internal and external systems.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of platform-related initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to define technical requirements, roadmaps, and execution plans.
  • Implement monitoring frameworks to track system performance, reliability, and user engagement. Utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring platform solutions meet organizational needs. Manage relationships with third-party vendors and external partners.
  • Ensure platforms comply with industry regulations, security policies, and data governance standards. Drive modernization initiatives for legacy systems.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities to adopt emerging technologies that enhance platform capabilities and business value.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in platform development, integration, and management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Understanding of the Canadian banking and/or payments ecosystem, including key partners, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in full-stack platform development (Web, Application, Database), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), API development, microservices architecture, and DevOps principles. Experience with multi-server setups, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk).
  • Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, make technical decisions, and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and optimizing solutions.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory requirements.
