What you'll do

Reporting to the Vice President, Store Technology, the Associate Vice President, Store Hardware Platforms, will lead the implementation of a major cross-Canada SD-WAN migration. The upgrade entails deployment of almost 5,000 circuits and 40,000 routers, switches, and access points, across all our 1,600+ retail locations and banners. Once this in-flight upgrade is deployed, you will then champion, prioritize, and enable the advanced features of this modern platform, including AIOps, location analytics, and SASE. You will partner closely with our store operations teams, Franchisees, and Dealers on this, as well as to select, acquire and deploy the next generation of in-store mobile devices - a fleet of well over 30,000 devices. As AVP, Store Hardware Platforms, you will also maintain the network and mobile fleet through operations support, system upgrades, and feature enablement.

  • Be a trusted advisor and provide thought leadership on networking, network security, and mobile device capabilities
  • Ideate, maintain, and deliver the AI-driven network and mobile roadmap in partnership with key stakeholders and in line with business priorities
  • Design, deploy, and support the in-store hardware systems, with particular focus on reliability, performance, and operational and cybersecurity resiliency
  • Partner various teams such as store technology delivery teams, corporate infrastructure teams, and architecture drive business outcomes
  • Lead, mentor and build the team, working together to create a world-class AI-driven network and mobile capability within Canadian Tire
  • Define the objectives and key success metrics to continuously measure and report on the performance and availability of our network to internal stakeholders and Dealers
  • Use data and analytics to identify and prioritize initiatives that improve the experience for store customers and store employees

What you bring

  • 10+ years of relevant networking and cybersecurity experience in a fast-paced environment with at least 3+ years experience defining and implementing IT systems roadmaps
  • Proven self-starter with entrepreneurial instincts and the ability to successfully balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated change management capabilities, including communication, enablement, and stakeholder management
  • Experience in a mission-critical operations management role
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal, including ability to develop effective cross-organizational and vendor relationships
  • Top candidates will be curious, customer-focused, and have the demonstrated ability to formulate data-driven decisions that lead to results
  • One or more certifications in networking and/or cybersecurity is preferred
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) would be an asset
